Cactus Care

  • Soil

Use well-draining soil that is specifically made for cactus, palm and citrus plants. This can be purchased pre-made or you can find recipes online to make your own. The key is that your cactus can drain effectively when watered so its roots are not sitting in water.

  • Sun

Cactus can tolerate full sun and most love it.

  • Water

Water when dry or every 10-14 days. Avoid over watering and avoid letting cactus sit in water.

Succulent Care

Use well-draining soil that is specifically made for cactus, palm and citrus plants. This can be purchased pre-made or you can find recipes online to make your own. The key is that your succulent can drain effectively when watered so its roots are not sitting in water.

  • Sun

Succulents love full to partial sun. Look online for exact directions based on your specific succulent variety.

  • Water

Water when dry or every 10-14 days. Avoid over watering and avoid letting succulents sit in water.

Houseplant Care

  • Soil

Use potting soil formulated for indoor plants when potting house plants.

  • Sun

House plants vary in terms of ideal light conditions. They can range from full sun to full shade. Look online for specific sun conditions ideal for your new house plant.

  • Water

House plants vary in terms of watering but may like water every few days or when their top 1-2 inches of soil is dry. Try a moisture meter you can buy online - they are inexpensive - to make sure you’re not over or under watering your house plant..

Air Plant Care

  • Soil

No soil needed! Though air plants can be nestled into rocks, sand, etc. for a fun display.

  • Sun

Air plants can tolerate full sun.

  • Water

Mist air plants weekly. Or, soak them in a bowl of water periodically for about 30 minutes, drying them upside down on a paper towel for an hour or two.

Terrarium Care

  • Soil

Soil is optional depending on the plants inside your terrarium. Use well draining soil if it is used and if succulents or cactus are used. If using air plants, soil is not needed and air plants can be nestled into rocks, sand, etc.

  • Sun

Terrariums do well in indirect or direct sun. If in direct sun, you may need to remove the lid (if your terrarium has one) to avoid the inside environment from overheating.

  • Water

Water terrariums when dry by misting the plants inside the terrarium when needed. Keep the inside environment moist but not soaking wet.
